My pottery journey started over 20 years ago. From the moment I first touched clay, I was captivated by its versatility and potential. The cool, malleable texture felt like invitation to create and I quickly fell in love with the process of transforming raw earth into functional and beautiful forms.
As “an Island potter” my work is a celebration of Vancouver Island's rich landscape and vibrant ecosystems. Inspired by the rugged coastlines, lush forests, and serene beaches, each piece I create reflects the organic shapes, textures, and colours found in nature. Through my pottery, I strive to evoke a sense of connection to the land and a reverence for its beauty.
Equally important to me is the joy of teaching pottery. Sharing my knowledge and passion with others enriches my practice and creates a vibrant community of artists. I believe that teaching is a reciprocal experience where I learn as much from my students as they do from me. Guiding others on their creative journeys and witnessing their growth and discoveries is profoundly rewarding.
